This has been the strangest past two days. Ellie found a baby bouncer in the closet and a play pad that you lay a baby on with a mobile hanging above the baby so that they can hit at the toys that are hanging down. My mom is a medical foster parent and these were left over from one of her many babies.
Ellie has decided that these are hers and she is now insisting that she is a baby. She wants to only drink out of a baby bottle and she sits in the bouncer or lays on the pad. She also wants me to feed her all the time.
I had heard that some older children will do this after an adoption but I am a little unprepared for such a big change. She drags these two things all over the house from the bedroom to the living room to my office, back inside, all over....She even put the play pad on her bed tonight and is sleeping in it with the bouncer next to her bed. She is so happy...it's like she loves the idea of starting her life over. Meanwhile, I just keep tripping over everything and hoping this regression doesn't include potty training.
