I can't believe they are not listening to me!

I said as I looked at my mother last night in absolute amazement when, for the umpteenth time, Maggie and Ellie got out of their beds and came running out giggling and laughing, and they ran back into the bedroom. Even after threats of taking away the beloved Leapster they still did it, over and over again. It was 10:30pm and I was exhausted. "I can't believe they are not listening to me!" My mother just cackled...

I have to admit that after all the fighting and jealous spats the sound of them giggling and laughing together was reassuring....maybe they will actually like each other one day, but, enough is enough.

We had had a busy day, went to a Waiting Families meeting where I got up and spoke for a few minutes about adopting and older child, then spent the afternoon walking the dog, playing in the water, trying to organize the lanaii...chores, chores, chores. Ellie loves to take small things of Maggie's and hide them in her backpack, where she knows Maggie won't look. Twice I asked Ellie for something that I knew she took and she just puts her hands up in the air and says "I don't know," but when she leaves the room I go into the backpack and there it is. I don't know how much longer I can afford to buy two of everything but it has been very hard to explain to Ellie that she needs to take care of something and not destroy it. She has already broken two leapsters...at $60.00 a pop I am not going to replace them endlessly and at the same time don't feel it is exactly right to leave it up to Maggie to now have to share hers because she hasn't broken hers. Ellie drops everything and spills everything. As soon as I can I want to have her vision tested. I am serious, we cannot go through a meal without a spilled drink. It is getting very annoying.

Maggie has also developed the equally annoying habit of screaming as if she has just cut off her arm everytime Ellie bothers her. I have tried to explain to her to just "tell me in a calm and quiet voice" if you are having a problem, but NOOOOO she has to start WAILING....this part is exhausting....

So, that is why the giggling sounds pretty good...and yes, the Leapster did finally get taken away for the next day.

When does school start?????
